Assistive Technology

An Assistive Technology Device is any item, product or piece of equipment that is used to maintain or improve the functional capabilities of individuals with disabilities. Devices may be as simple as an adapted grip for a pencil, or as complex as a sight-controlled switch to operate a computer.

Assistive Technology Services assist in the selection, acquisition or use of an assistive technology device. This includes evaluation, funding, design, customization, adaptation, maintenance, repair, therapy, training, or technical assistance.
