Severe Multiple

Marion County Special Education Cooperative (MCSEC) provides services to children with severe and multiple disabilities according to their individual needs through a team approach. The multidisciplinary team consists of occupational, physical, and speech therapists as well as teachers of the vision and hearing impaired, interrelated teachers, the SMD teacher, school psychologists and social workers, regular education teachers as well as the student's parents. Students served by this program include those who have severe educational delays in addition to one of the following: severe sensory and/or motor disorders, severe emotional disturbances, chronic health conditions, or severe communication disorders. 
These services are provided in the student's home school. Transition to adult support services is initiated by MCSEC.
