Marion County Special Education Cooperative provides contracted services for the visually impaired. Students are eligible if their vision interferes with their educational and developmental progress. This includes students who are either blind or have partial sight. Services are available throughout the county and are generally, delivered at the child’s local school. Coordination is provided with the regular classroom teacher so the curriculum can provide for the unique needs of a visually impaired student. Parental involvement is encouraged. A major goal in the program is for the student to become as independent as their potential will allow.
