Adaptive P.E.
Direct and consultation services by certified physical and occupational therapists are available to all five districts in the Cooperative. Students with severe delays or handicaps in fine or gross motor abilities may receive therapy to help them function more independently in the educational environment and work toward reaching their academic potential. In addition, each local education agency is required to provide physical education services, adapted when necessary, as an integral part of the education program of each special needs child. This service is typically referred to as adaptive P.E. (Physical Education).
